Joan Kroc Community Center

The Salvation Army and Joan Kroc teamed up to build the 12 acre community center located in the College Area of San Diego, just north of La Mesa. The facility features a myriad of activities, clubs, events, educational programs and sporting activities. There are 3 pools; a 25 meter lap pool, a recreation pool and an indoor water therapy pool, an internet based library with a computer lab, study hall, classrooms and tutoring rooms, a gymnasium, an ice arena for skating and ice hockey, 2,732 square foot performing arts center, a rock wall and skateboard park. The center features educational classes for families and children alike, as well as activities for seniors. Membership is very affordable, and there is a resident discount. Also volunteers are welcomed. The most important aspect of the center is the new sense of community to that has been brought to the area.
